The food at Hinoki is so good. They have great stir fry and fried rice, but also fantastic sushi. They make it quick and fresh with fresh fish. Make sure to get some sort of tempura sushi, and some pork dumplings. The service is good.
I’ve frequented this restaurant many times in years past and always look forward to the chance to stop in while running errands on the Island. Stopped in for lunch at the sushi bar. Staff was very welcoming and professional. Service was incredible, start to finish. I ordered sashimi and the sushi chef prepared a delicious assortment of fresh fish. It’s always a treat to sit at the sushi bar and have conversations with the other diners. I finished lunch with sweet shrimp and some of the best uni (sea urchin) I’ve had in a long while. Whether you’re a local or visiting, give Hinoki a try. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the dining experience too.
Excellent sushi and nigiri! We did the chef's special and a number of other rolls (spider, rainbow, soft shell crab, tuna tataki) and everything was great. Service was fast considering how busy the place was for sure. Presentation was spot on and left full! I'd definitely recommend doing the chef's special it did not disappoint.
Hinoki is always a delicious experience! Been coming here with my family over 10 years, and after visiting Japan, I can say that this is the only sushi place on the island that is close to Japanese quality! The sushi chefs are all Japanese, very friendly and happy to help if you have any questions. The deluxe nigiri is my favorite set and I get it almost every time. Salmon egg sushi is very good, as well as the tempura. They have fatty tuna as well, which is rare, and it is so worth the price!
My husband and I were thoroughly impressed with the restaurant's welcoming and sophisticated atmosphere, efficient service, and delicious sushi. Given the prices, the sushi is an outstanding value. The Surf and Turf was one of my favorites, as was the Heritage Roll, a special crafted by the chef. We’re also looking forward to returning to enjoy more of their baked mussels and miso soup. The server was attentive and professional, consistently checking in and keeping us informed about our order. For 80 we were able to get 2 miso soups, baked mussels, 6 piece tuna sashimi, and 3 sushi rolls... definitely worth it!
The chefs choice nigiri regular was fantastic! The fish is so fresh. The chefs are also very friendly. Definitely would come back.
We have tried a few other sushi places on the Island and by far this is the best. The seared salmon nigiri special was so good we got a second order. The Dinosaur Egg was unique and flavorfull and not drowned in the accompanying sauce. The shrimp tempura app was light and delicious and the shrimp was nor over cooked. Company at the sushi bar was excellent as was the service. We will return every time we are passing through.
Sat at the sushi bar to watch the sushi being made and speak with the sushi chefs was such a treat. Sushi was so fresh. Would return again. Highly recommend. It is a more traditional Japanese atmosphere and they have several seating options if you make reservations.
